Welcoming Novroz (New Year)

Novroz means New Day. It is a day of jubilation and celebration to welcome spring. Novroz is commemorated across the globe especially in Iran, middle eastern countries and Pakistan. Rupani Foundation also celebrated Novroz with Students and mothers at Agah Walidain-Informed Parents center. Children take swings of joy, dressed up to their best, ate eggs and greens. Inscribed in 2009 on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity as a cultural tradition observed by numerous peoples, Nowruz is an ancestral festivity marking the first day of spring and the renewal of nature. It promotes values of peace and solidarity between generations and within families as well as reconciliation and neighborliness, thus contributing to cultural diversity and friendship among peoples and different communities.
Moreover, Rupani Foundation also celebrated a local festival called ‘DA DA’. on this day young toddlers, Peggy ride on grandparent’s back. Grandparents and elders on this occasion gave blessings of long life, health, wealth and prosperity to children. Later on roasted wheat, sweets and popcorns are showered on children. Rupani Foundation ensures to familiarize children with their roots and cultures. These events promote adaptability to diverse cultures and traditions.
